Joseph Armstrong, LPCC-S
Joseph Armstrong, MA, LPCC-S, is a seasoned professional in the counseling field with over a decade of experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Eastern Kentucky University, a program accredited by CACREP, which sets the educational standards in the counseling field. His academic achievements include making the Dean’s list and delivering lectures on group counseling, DSM-V, and grief loss.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Joseph has undergone extensive training in mindfulness practices and has been supervising aspiring mental health professionals for the past six years.
Joseph’s counseling experience spans across individual, group, and telehealth settings. He is skilled in conducting current assessments, addressing substance abuse issues, enhancing parenting skills, managing life changes, dealing with grief loss, suicide ideations, self-harm, and improving relationships at an individual level.
His therapeutic approach combines affirming and supportive reflections with a blend of philosophies and psychoeducation. This enables individuals to gain better insight into themselves and move past conflicts. His methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Practices, Meditation practices, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and the development of coping skills.
