Maria Owens, LPCA
Hello! My name is Maria Owens. I completed my graduate degree with Lindsey Wilson College in 2022. In addition to this degree, I also completed a certification in Substance Abuse. Prior to this I completed my undergraduate degree with Eastern Kentucky University in 2020. In addition to my general education to become an LPCA, my degree also included a deeper understanding and treatment methods for trauma and substance abuse. I chose to go into the counseling field as I am passionate about helping others learn to tap into their strengths to overcome their struggles. I truly believe every person is capable of success.
I have experience and currently work with individuals who are suffering from mental health and substance abuse struggles. My approach and therapy methods are reflective of my personality as being optimistic, determined, empathetic, and a problem solver. Therefore, my typical approach is CBT and person centered. I believe every client is capable of success through positive thinking and the discovery of what they are really capable of through positive support.
In my free time I enjoy, organizing, reading, art projects, hiking, and spending time with my husband, kids, and our dogs. I believe my passion for life shines through in my personal and professional life. We are all valuable and worth the effort. I hope that no matter who you choose to work with that you come to believe just that.
