Substance Abuse Counseling
Recovery is possible.
What is Substance Abuse Counseling?
G&A Counseling holds an AODE license (Alcohol & Other Drug Entity) from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, allowing us to provide comprehensive substance abuse services. We offer individual and group counseling designed to help you understand the root causes of addiction and build a path toward lasting recovery.
Our substance abuse services include assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and psycho-education. We are also licensed to provide Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services: 9 hours per week for adults and 6 hours per week for adolescents.
We believe recovery is possible for everyone. Our team works with you to create a treatment plan that fits your life and supports your goals, whether that's sobriety, harm reduction, or rebuilding relationships.
Who Is This For?
Substance abuse services at G&A are for:
- Adults and adolescents struggling with alcohol or drug use
- Individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Anyone seeking support for recovery and relapse prevention
- Families affected by a loved one's substance use
- Court-referred individuals needing assessments or treatment
What to Expect
Treatment begins with a substance abuse assessment to understand your history, current use, and treatment needs. From there, your counselor will work with you to develop an individualized plan that may include weekly individual sessions, group counseling, or IOP depending on your level of need.
Services are available in person at our Richmond office and via telehealth.
Insurance & Cost
We accept Medicaid and most major Kentucky plans:
Most Medicaid members have no out-of-pocket cost for services.
