Substance Abuse Counseling
Recovery is possible.
What is Substance Abuse Counseling?
G&A Counseling holds an AODE license (Alcohol & Other Drug Entity) from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, allowing us to provide comprehensive substance abuse services. We offer individual and group counseling designed to help you understand the root causes of addiction and build a path toward lasting recovery.
Our substance abuse services include assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and psycho-education. We are also licensed to provide Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services: 9 hours per week for adults and 6 hours per week for adolescents.
We believe recovery is possible for everyone. Our team works with you to create a treatment plan that fits your life and supports your goals, whether that is sobriety, harm reduction, or rebuilding relationships. We treat the whole person, not just the substance use, so we also address the anxiety, depression, or trauma that so often travels alongside addiction.
G&A Counseling is a locally owned practice serving Richmond, KY and the surrounding Madison County area. Care here is judgment-free and confidential. Whether this is your first time reaching out or you are starting over after a setback, you are welcome exactly as you are.
Who Is This For?
Substance abuse services at G&A Counseling are for:
- Adults and adolescents struggling with alcohol or drug use
- Individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Anyone seeking support for recovery and relapse prevention
- Families affected by a loved one's substance use
- Court-referred individuals needing assessments or treatment
If someone you love in Madison County is struggling, you can reach out too. We help families understand what their loved one is going through and how to support recovery without losing themselves in the process.
What to Expect
Treatment begins with a substance abuse assessment to understand your history, current use, and treatment needs. From there, your counselor works with you to develop an individualized plan that may include weekly individual sessions, group counseling, or an Intensive Outpatient Program depending on your level of need.
Group sessions offer something individual therapy cannot: the support of other people walking the same road. Many clients say that being in a room with neighbors who truly understand is the part that finally makes recovery feel possible.
Services are available in person at our Richmond office and by telehealth across Kentucky. We accept all Kentucky Medicaid plans and most major insurance, and most Medicaid members have no out-of-pocket cost. To begin, call our Richmond office, request an appointment online, or submit a referral.
