Owner & Lead Therapist

Welcome! My name is Toni Gaines and I am the owner/lead therapist of Gaines and Associates. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART). I have a vast amount of experience in mental health, crisis intervention and substance abuse. I currently work with individuals, families and couples who are seeking therapeutic services and/or have substance abuse issues. We are certified to satisfy state DUI requirements and provide relief to individuals suffering from substance abuse disorders. My wide range of experience provides me the unique ability to provide individualized treatment for each of my clients. I believe in an empathetic, self-empowering approach to therapy which will provide the client with sufficient education and resources necessary to live a more satisfying life. Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son and our two dogs. I look forward to meeting you and empowering your life's journey.

Mary Alysia Foster, M.Ed., LPCC, C-PD, NCC

TCM Program Manager & Therapist

Mary completed her master's and undergrad Degree at Lindsey Wilson College. She has over 16 years of experience across a variety of settings in the human services and human development field including social work, crisis intervention, case management, in home programs as well as community support. Mary's approach emphasizes the mutual development of goals for therapy, provision of ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic approach while adding personal support for client success. Services can include individual, couples, family, and group therapy across the lifespan. Mary received her certification for assisting specifically people who struggle with personality disorders. Additionally, Mary is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Crisis Intervention. She continues to pursue ongoing updates to her services and knowledge base. Mary emphasizes the willingness and importance of being able to modify theoretic methods for client need and success. Mary is invested in an approach emphasizing a more integrative, energetic, and supportive approach to mental health. Aside from Therapeutic duties, Mary holds the title of Targeted Case Management Supervisor. Mary is responsible for the administrative and clinical leadership and direction of the TCM program, including the conceptualization, organization, and implementation of the program.

Joseph Armstrong, MA, LPCC-S

Therapist Manager

Joseph Armstrong, MA, LPCC-S, is a seasoned professional in the counseling field with over a decade of experience. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in mental health counseling from Eastern Kentucky University, a program accredited by CACREP, which sets the educational standards in the counseling field. His academic achievements include making the Dean's list and delivering lectures on group counseling, DSM-V, and grief loss. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Joseph has undergone extensive training in mindfulness practices and has been supervising aspiring mental health professionals for the past six years. Joseph's counseling experience spans across individual, group, and telehealth settings. He is skilled in conducting current assessments, addressing substance abuse issues, enhancing parenting skills, managing life changes, dealing with grief loss, suicide ideations, self-harm, and improving relationships at an individual level. His therapeutic approach combines affirming and supportive reflections with a blend of philosophies and psychoeducation. His methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Practices, Meditation practices, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and the development of coping skills.
