About Maria

Maria is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who believes that everyone has the ability to grow, heal, and create meaningful change. She strives to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. Maria earned her graduate degree from Lindsey Wilson College in 2022, along with a certification in Substance Abuse. She also serves as a Comprehensive Community Support (CCS) Supervisor, providing leadership and support to professionals working with individuals who benefit from community-based mental health services. This role has strengthened her experience in advocacy, skill development, care coordination, and helping individuals work toward greater stability and independence. Maria has a particular interest in trauma and completed the requirements to practice Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

She is also a Certified Mood Disorder Professional, reflecting her passion for supporting individuals experiencing mood disorders, including Bipolar Disorder. Maria continues to pursue additional education and training to expand her knowledge and strengthen the care she provides. Her therapeutic style is optimistic, empathetic, determined, and solution-focused. Maria primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a Person-Centered approach. She believes therapy should never be "one-size-fits-all" and works collaboratively with each client to understand their unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals.

When appropriate, she incorporates additional therapeutic approaches to best meet each client's needs. Maria has experience working with concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, relationship concerns, substance use, and emotional regulation. She provides individual and couples therapy and enjoys helping clients build healthier communication, strengthen relationships, establish boundaries, develop effective coping skills, and navigate life's challenges. Maria believes that seeking support is a sign of strength and that meaningful change is possible, even when life feels overwhelming. Her goal is to meet each client where they are, help them recognize their strengths, and work alongside them as they move toward greater well-being and the life they want to create.
